Readers rides: Fat Gadget 750
Paul Klaeren is an amateur builder from Holland.
This is his opera prima "Constanze": a stilish 1978 Yamaha XS750 triple...
Paul Klaeren, is 52 year old amateur builder from Holland and loves motorcycles since a friend persuaded him to take riding lessons 25 years ago. Since then he rode “various kinds of motorcycles from HD to Ducati Super bike and everything in between - He says - All these years I was more or less annoyed by the fact that the manufacturers of motor cycles weren’t capable to produce a really good looking motor cycle. A few years ago I spotted a motorcycle of DEUS in a magazine and then I suddenly knew what to do: I bought a ’78 Yamaha XS 750 from a friend of mine, the motorcycle had been standing in a barn for 15 years. It took me other 2 years to formulate the “right” motorcycle for me. And I started the build, but even then I had to take the motorcycle 10 times apart before having the final setting, the experience and the learning curve were great. (…) I am very satisfied with the result and now I do know I’m capable of doing things which I wasn’t sure when I started. The brand I’m working under is “FAT GADGET” and the motorcycle is named after my wife Constanze.”
